Privacy Notice

This notice describes what information Hancock County Released Inmates receives, how that information is used, when service providers or legal authorities may receive it, and the choices available to visitors. It applies while browsing local release-record resources, following links to the Breckinridge contract jail or Kentucky corrections systems, using a search tool, or sending a message. Continued use means acceptance of these practices. An outside website or search provider applies its own privacy terms once a visitor leaves this site.

Information You Submit

Terms Entered in Search

A name, county, or other term entered into a search tool is sent to the third-party provider that operates that tool. Hancock County Released Inmates does not keep or log those search terms on its own systems. The provider may handle the query under its separate privacy policy.

Messages Sent to Us

An email or contact-form message is retained as needed to read and answer the request. Message contents and contact details are not shared outside the organization unless disclosure is required by law or a valid legal process.

Technical Data Collected Automatically

Basic technical records may be created when a page loads. They help deliver the service, diagnose faults, and understand general traffic. These records can include:

  • The visitor's Internet Protocol address
  • Browser name, version, and language settings
  • Device category and operating system
  • Pages viewed and approximate time spent
  • The referring website, when supplied
  • Date and time stamps for requests

Cookies and Similar Storage

Cookies may be used to understand how visitors move through the site and to support advertising or analytics functions. Most browsers allow cookies to be deleted or blocked. Some features may work differently, remember less, or fail to load when cookies are disabled.

Reasons We Use Information

Information is used only for ordinary operation and improvement of the service. Those purposes include:

  • Keeping pages available, responsive, and stable
  • Sending a search request to the appropriate partner tool
  • Learning which Hancock release-record pages visitors find useful
  • Finding, testing, and repairing technical problems
  • Displaying advertising that may reflect general interests

Privacy Beyond This Website

Links lead to sources such as Hancock County offices, Breckinridge County Detention Center, Kentucky courts, the Kentucky Department of Corrections, VINELink, federal portals, legal resources, and outside search services. Each destination controls its own collection and use of data. Its privacy notice governs after the link is opened.

Some advertising providers may use their own technology to understand activity across more than one website and select interest-based ads. That processing occurs on the provider's systems, not on systems operated by Hancock County Released Inmates.

Parties That May Receive Data

Personal information is not sold. Limited information may still be provided to parties that perform a necessary function or have lawful authority to receive it:

  • Search partners that process a visitor's submitted query
  • Analytics providers that measure site use and performance
  • Advertising networks that deliver or assess ads
  • Law enforcement or another government body acting under a valid legal order

Safeguards and Their Limits

Reasonable, commonly used security measures are applied to information under our control. No website, network, email system, or Internet transmission can be guaranteed fully secure. Hancock County Released Inmates therefore cannot promise that unauthorized access, loss, alteration, or disclosure will never occur.

Visitors Younger Than Eighteen

The service is intended for adults and does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under eighteen. A parent or guardian who believes a minor submitted information may use the Contacts page to request review and deletion.

Available Privacy Choices

Subject to applicable law and the ability to verify a request, a visitor may ask to:

  • Receive a copy of personal information held about them
  • Correct information that is inaccurate
  • Delete information that is no longer required
  • Opt out of certain processing when that right applies

These choices concern data held by this private site. Requests about a Hancock court file, Breckinridge booking record, KOOL entry, or other government record must go to the agency that maintains it under Kentucky law, including applicable procedures in KRS Chapter 61.

Changes to This Notice

This Privacy Notice may be revised as site practices, service providers, or legal duties change. A revised version becomes effective when posted here with its new effective date. Reviewing this page from time to time is the best way to see the current terms.
